Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 4 September 2026
1. Our commitment
Ashegham has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Ashegham is an adults-only service for people looking for a spouse. Any content, conduct or account that sexualises, endangers or exploits a minor is prohibited without exception, and we act on it immediately. These standards apply to every part of the service — profiles, photos, verification evidence and conversations — on the website and in the app.
2. Adults only — 18 and over
Ashegham is available only to people aged 18 or older. Every member gives their date of birth during setup, the requirement is enforced on our servers rather than only in the app, and an account that does not meet it is refused. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we suspend it and delete its data.
3. Prohibited content and conduct
The following are forbidden and lead to immediate, permanent removal:
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind
• Sexualised depictions of minors — real, drawn or generated
• Grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to contact a minor or arrange contact with one
• Sharing, requesting or linking to such material
• Creating an account for a minor, or claiming to be one
• Using Ashegham to advertise or arrange the trafficking or exploitation of a child
4. Review before anything is shown
A person reviews every photo before any other member can see it; nothing appears on a profile until it has been approved. Profile text and messages are not read in advance — they are covered by reporting, and a report concerning a minor is treated as the most urgent kind we receive.
5. How to report
Every profile and every conversation carries a Report button. Choose the reason “Child safety concern”; you do not need to be matched with someone to report them, and the person is never told. You can also write to us at [email protected] — you do not need an account to do so.
6. How we respond
A person reviews every child-safety report. When we confirm abuse or exploitation, we remove the content, permanently suspend the account, preserve the evidence attached to the report, and report the matter to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the appropriate authority in the relevant country. We cooperate fully with lawful requests from child-protection authorities and law enforcement.
7. Legal compliance
We comply with the child-safety laws that apply where Ashegham is available and with the child-safety requirements of the app stores that distribute it. These standards are reviewed regularly and updated as the law and our practices develop.
8. Point of contact
For any child-safety matter — including requests from regulators, app stores or law enforcement — contact [email protected]. We aim to answer child-safety correspondence within one business day.
